アメリカてんかん学会に参加しました
パープルデーアジアは2018年American Epilepsy Societyの学会に参加してきました
11月30日（金）から12月2日（日）、パープルデーアジアはアメリアのニューオーリンズで開かれたAmerican Epilepsy Societyの学会に参加しました。世界最大級のてんかん学会として、アメリカの病院関係者を中心に、各国からのてんかん医師と意見交換ができ、とても有意義な宣伝活動を行いました。
パープルデーアジアはてんかんNGOエリアでブースを設けました。パープルマンバッチ、折り紙などをはじめ、日本オリジナルグッズをたくさん配布しました。パープルマンも学会に登場し、場を大いに盛り上げました。
ブースに来て頂いた先生方にパープルマンのバッチをお渡し、記念写真を撮ってもらいました。パープルデーアジアの活動に大変興味及びご理解を持っていただき、笑顔に包まれた明るい現場になりました。
各国の先生との交流を通じ、アメリカのヒューストンで橋が紫色にライトアップされ、パープルデーの知名度が上がった事や、逆にコロンビアではまたパープルデー活動が盛んでおらず一層の努力が必要など、世界のパープルデー現状を知ることができました。
2018年も年末を迎え、今年はたくさんのパープルデー活動を行いました。来年3月31日は名古屋でパープルデーイベントを開催します。皆さんもぜひご参加ください。日本国内のパープルデーイベントにも更に力を入れ、てんかんに対するスティグマを減らすよう活動していきたいと思います。
From 30th November to 2nd December, Purple Day Asia participated into American Epilepsy Society Annual Meeting which is held in New Orleans, U.S. The meeting is one of the most influential epilepsy conferences in the world. Starting with the American doctors, lots of experts and doctors coming from all over the world attended the meeting and we held a very meaningful promoting campaign there.
Purple Day Asia organized a booth at NGO Area. We had prepared various kinds of Japanese original purple day goods such as Purple Man Button and Origami. Moreover, purple man has come to our booth and the popular superhero attracted so much attentions.
We gave the purple day goods to booth visitors and took pictures for them with purple man. By attending the meeting, we know that nowadays purple day has been more and more popular in U.S. that bridge was lighted up in purple for a month in Houston this year for celebrating purple day. While, by contrast, purple day is still not major in some other countries. Understanding the current situation of purple day in the world is important and necessary for Purple Day Asia.
Here comes the end of 2018 and Purple Day Asia has attended several epilepsy awareness campaigns in 2018. We will definitely keep attending international epilepsy conferences in 2019 and striving for eliminating the stigma against epileptic patients.
